The Big Picture Festival is more than a celebration of the arts. It’s about raising funds to support what’s nearest and dearest to us—kids having a chance to experience and enjoy art making. We do that by hiring artists to teach in after-school programs and community centers.

In 2019, Big Picture has provided 400 teaching hours. We hire professional artists to work with children in after school and summer school programs. This summer we held four mural programs in partnership with Peoria Public Schools, a community art program with the Peoria Park District, and a month-long filmmaking class at the Romain Art and Culture Community Center.

We believe that the arts have a place in every child’s life.
