Big Picture believes that arts education is necessary for all. Arts ed gives students the opportunity to develop skills in communication, critical thinking (problem solving), creativity, and collaboration.
It is vital for kids to have a chance to experiment with ideas and to enjoy art making. Big Picture Initiative funds arts to teach filmmaking/video class held at the Romain Arts and Culture Community Center. In 2019, Big Picture provided 400 teaching hours. In 2020 due to the pandemic, we canceled all of our in-person classes and distributed 1000 Imagination Starter Kits free of charge to children in our community.
